Buying a Vacuum Cleaner
Canister or Upright...Decisions, decisions
Before I go any further into this subject, let me admit I have never owned a canister vacuum cleaner. Right now, we own 2 uprights and a robotic vacuum. In my opinion, the robotic vacuum is a gimmick. It works, but retrospect tells me I would be better off without it. Years ago, my mother had an Electrolux canister vacuum cleaner but I don't remember anything about it. My wife tells me a canister would be nice for cleaning the blinds but I tell her, with 3 full sized and 2 handheld cleaners, we don't need another. Since I am the one that uses them, I think I will prevail. Here is a sort video on the advantages of a canister vacuum cleaner.
I did NOT learn ‘How to Buy a Vacuum Cleaner’ by watching this video.
What I heard was that the ‘tools on board’ feature of a Canister Vacuum cleaner it its advantage over an Upright vacuum cleaner.
ALL of my uprights have ‘tools on board’.
I would look for wattage, power brush, versatility, company integrity & ingenuity.
