Roomba Vacuum Cleaners
We bought a Roomba vacuum cleaner, model 570, this past fall. This model comes with 2 light houses. We purchased two additional lighthouses. The lighthouses are used to define "no pass" areas for the Roomba to keep away from. The Roomba robotic vacuum cleaner comes with a recharging port, 2 light houses and a remote control. It is absolutely fabulous to watch go about its business.
The Roomba is not for deep cleaning but it does a serviceable job of surface cleaning. It also picks up pet hair pretty well. After each cleaning cycle, you should empty the dirt collector and clean the rollers where pet hair seems to accumulate.
When we used Gladys (Research shows most Roomba owners name their Roomba.) Sticking true to form, we named ours Gladys. Our pets (2 poodles and a cat) show a mild bit of interest when Gladys first gets started but then they ignore her.
The first time we used it, she stopped before the defined area was cleaned. I pushed the remote button to restart and I hear a voice. I go to the Roomba vacuum cleaner and it says "Clean Roomba's brushes." She had ingested a string and it was wrapped around one of the brushes. I cleaned it and she completed here chore.
